Where is the clock spring located? Do I need to buy a code reader to check the codes? If so, what kind?

Clock spring is located in the steering wheel under driver air bag module
(remove air bag
remove steering wheel
remove clock spring )
air bag codes require a scanner and an OBDII reader will not get you air bag codes
stop by a local repair shop they should have the scanner to communicate with air bag module and pull any codes for you

Horn works and air bag light is not on. Would it still be the clock spring?
