1999 Dodge Caravan Gas Flow Problem

The vehicle in question was starting and would go but then stall, it belongs to my brother he doesn't have a computer. After a couple of days sitting he tried it again and finally it started going but he noticed that it was using a lot of gas, he would like to know if anyone has ever encountered a problem such as this

What exactly are the symptoms? What makes him think it's using too much fuel? What has been tested so far? From the little information you've provided, this could apply to hundreds of vehicles, each with a different problem.

My brother says it still stalls couple of times a day, said he went 160 klm and used half a tank of gas.I told him that was about right I think, probably city driving to so thats not all that bad. His mechanic friend hasn't had time to look at it as he is working on a transmission, so I will keep you posted as to any other changes that may occur.
