1995 Dodge Caravan Stays in Second-Gear

Transmission problem
1995 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 247kkm miles

Its the same vehicle with the fuel pump problem.
Now the problem I am facing is that, if, I have to slow down the speed during the driving up to somewhere around 40km/hour it does not shift back to 2nd gear, but stays in the 3rd gear. Now, If I accelerate slowly to speedup, its ok, but if I try or have to accelerate quickly, then it jumps into the second gear and stays into second gear, until I turn off and restart the engine. I don't know what actually the problem is and how to fix it?

I recommend having it checked by a trans mechanic. Without a light, anything I say would be a guess.
