I am trying to replace the alternator, but there is a metal plate up top & it's to hard to take off. Is it easier to take it out through underneath the car or will it fit it's 120 amp. Please help with the best way Thankyou

A 3.3 or 3.8 is supposed to come out through the top, the tensioner, resevoir for p/steering, and the bracket are all part of removal. Resevoir stays but is unattached from bracket, the tensioner, and support bracket come off, turn and remove wiring first then remove. You may get at it from underneath easier if it is too big but Inever had to. They have a service manual on this website. Ok

I just looked at a 94 caravan 3.3L. The pulley has a stud thar goes through the bracket. A 15mm nut is behind the bracket. It comes off, the pulley(tensioner pulley)comes off and the bracket bolts are visible, to remove it. Be sure the battery is disconnected at the negative terminal, it has quite a kick.
