Engine shuts off when slowing down, stopped or reversing

It runs great driving, but shuts off when stopping/stopped.

Hello,

Is your check engine light on? If so what are the codes?

You could have a dirty mass air flow sensor or it could be a clogged EGR valve.

Good evening,

This could be a dirty throttle body from coking or carbon build-up on the throttle plate. I attached a guide below in cleaning the throttle body for you.

Another possibility is the EGR valve being stuck open from a piece of carbon.

I would remove the valve and look underneath and see if there is carbon holding the pindle partially open.
