Cut off and will not start, information screen went blank

I was just sitting in my car it was running while I waited on my friend. We pulled off then the car started running rough then cut off and the information screen went blank.

is check engine on? there are many causes that can make these problem,fuel system ignition system,crank sensor,or alarm,as a first step fault codes must be checked to narrow our problem and for faster troubleshooting.
please send us the fault codes.
