Hi there, I have replaced my 1.6 sub assembly with 1.3 sub. There is spark and fuel and compression and the timing is 100%. The car sounds like it wants to start but doesn't what else can it be please?

Hi,

If you have spark, proper fuel pressure, compression within the manufacturer's tolerances, and the timing is correct, then it has no choice but to run.

I need you to try something. See if it starts for a couple of seconds and then stalls. If it does, then we know it's a fuel-related issue. The fuel pressure may be good, but the injectors may not be a signal to inject fuel into the engine. This simple test will help us determine if that is the case.

If you find it makes no difference, reconfirm the spark at the plugs is a good hot blue snapping spark. Also, confirm if the plugs are wet or dry.

Please understand, this model isn't offered in the US, but I believe it is similar to our Ford Fiesta. With that in mind, I will try my best to help.

Take care,

Joe
