Swapped the transmission out and now that I got it back in and everything it won't crank. It sounds like the starter is getting hung or something not really sure.

Good morning,

Is the starter making any noise in the start position?

Did you verify power to the solenoid for starting in park and neutral?

It's clicking and I looked at it while a buddy tried to crank it and you can see the starter come out barely and go back in.

Can you verify voltage to the starter solenoid? If it has battery voltage cranking, then you have a bad starter.

I can see the little gear come out barely and go back in. Would it be the starter or the starter solenoid?

And you can sorta feel it it's as if it and the flywheel are not aligned.

It would be the starter motor itself. We do not replace solenoids any more. We replace the entire starter assembly.

I finally got it. I just kept playing with it trying to crank it and it finally caught and started right up.

It may happen again. I would still replace the starter.
