Hi, I am going to change the crank sensor on my car listed above. Advice on any special tools and if this is something that a lot of other components have to be removed to access the sensor. Also, is this plug and play or does it have to be programmed? Thank you very kindly in advance.

Hi,

As far as replacing it, you will need to remove the AC belt as well as the wire to the AC compressor. Additionally, the compressor will need to be loosened and moved slightly downward to access the sensor. Once they are removed and moved, you simply unbolt and disconnect the sensor and reinstall the new and reverse the procedure.

One recommendation is this. Often times corrosion causes the sensor to stick and be difficult to remove. Be careful when removing it. Once it is out, clean the area where the new one mounts. There will be an O-ring on the sensor. Lubricate the new o-ring with motor oil before installing the sensor.

I attached the directions below for you.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions. Also, yes, it is plug and play on this vehicle.

Take care,

Joe
