While driving the engine started to run rough, would bog down when trying to accelerate. Was able to nurse it home. Now it will crank but not start. Looks like I have spark but no fuel delivery. Suspect fuel pump?

Hi,

Chances are the pump has failed. Try this: See if it starts for a couple seconds using starting fluid and then stalls. If it does, then we know it is fuel related.

If it was a fuse or relay, it would have just shut down and you wouldn't have made it home, so chances are your diagnosis is correct.

If you find that is the problem, here is a link that shows in general how a fuel pump is replaced. You are lucky because the fuel tank does not need removed to replace the pump on this vehicle.

Here are the directions specific to your vehicle for replacement. The attached pictures correlate with the directions.

I hope this helps. Let me know if it doesn't start with starting fluid. Also, let me know if this takes care of the problem and if you have other questions.

Take care,
