I have the truck listed above, 205 4.2 l. I was driving the other day and it shut off. I popped the clutch it started back up go for about another mile or so and then I pulled into a store as it started to shut off again and then I haven't been able to get it to start since then. Okay came fast into and I just want to know how to detail with my PCM was not working or what would cause it not to start because it cranks, and it gets a little spotted like it's trying to start but just doesn't start.

Hi,

First, did the check engine light turn on while the engine was running? If so, have you scanned it to see if there are any diagnostic trouble codes stored?

If not, start with that. Here is a link that explains how to scan the can-bus. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, the different modules are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them.

Next, based on your description, it sounds like you may have lost fuel pressure. I would suggest checking the pressure to make sure it is within the manufacturer's fuel pressure specifications.

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

You will need a fuel pressure gauge to do this, but if you don't have one, most parts stores will lend one to you. If you look below, I attached the pressure specifications.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

joe
