Cooling fans

On the driver side cooling fan is a "resistor block" attached to the fan frame. Block has three prong plug. It is broke and I cannot find one. GM has discontinued. What is it? And is there a work around? Thanks

Rock auto shows a controller which looks to be wired in to replace what you are talking about they have about four different ones and it will need to be adapted so if you are not okay with doing it a mechanic can. It will probably come with instructions on how to do it. They are in the $25.00 to $30.00 price range.

Found a used one on a old cutlas in salvage yard slightly different wiring but adaptable. Also small difference in ohms resistance. BUT IT works.

Hi Ken. Just a little more info if you have it available. Mounted to the fender liner under the hood drivers side are three relays on a bracket. The is another relay same part nr looks like mounted near the firewall on passenger side. Can I test them? And what do the control. Thanks again.

We only show those three for buick and olds, but hel it may be yours as well they all control cooling fan theonly one on right firewall a/c compressor relay see pic
