Sorry have little car repair knowledge. every time i hit a pothole or road bump i hear a clinking noise. what can it be? thank you

Common causes are worn anti-sway bar links and loose brake pads. If some of the anti-rattle hardware is missing or broken on the brake pads, the noise will stop when you apply light pressure to the brake pedal.
