Hi, the car starts fine, except that when I push any button, there are four selections to choose from none of them blow air.I can hear it working, but there is no vent air or anything. Just recently I replaced the ignition key lock cylinder and as I remember and I'm hoping that I'm wrong, but when I had the steering column out and was in there replacing the lock cylinder, and had to remove the lead wiring for the chime, that covers the screw for the lock cylinder. It was kinda worn out when I removed it from its bore. So when I was reassembling the column back together, that two lead wire broke away from the metal pin that goes into the bore, but not completely. I tried my best to keep it together when installing it back in to the bore.I checked the fuses that are inside the glove box, and all are good. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you

Welcome to 2CarPros.

When you say there is no air but you can hear the fan working, is it coming from a different location? For example, the defroster?

If you had two wire that were mounted on the steering column and screwed onto the metal itself, then they were most likely a ground. If you don't have a good ground, any circuit that is associated with that ground will fail to work or not work properly.

Let me know.

Hello. Yes I can hear a humming sound but its hard to tell from where, but now I'm with you and feel that, that two wire lead that goes into the bore for the chime module is faulty. Because I tried it by turning on the turn signal and waited for the chime to come on, as it is supposed to after a reasonable time and it doesn't.

Welcome back:

Were you able to repair the issue? I was just wondering exactly what the cause of the problem was.
