My car is chugging/hesitating at around 55 mph. It is a strong running little car, but this just started. My mechanic told me after driving it it could be the car needed to have the tires rotated and balanced which I have done. Today I needed to get on the freeway and it started the chugging hesitating at 55 again. As a female with little car knowledge I just do not want to walk into a repair shop without sounding like a bit of an idiot. I would appreciate any advice, suggestions etc.

Scan for codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge then check for a vacuum leak. Fuel pressure may be low or maybe partially blocked exhaust

Hi REDFENIX62,

Sorry to but in Hmac300. Its funny I saw this post because that is the kind of car my son has and he had the same problem. When the spark plugs start to fail it will cause this chugging your engine is doing, if you haven't already change them out for new ones.

PS. Careful driving that fast :)

Let me know how it goes,

Best, Ken
