Hi I have owned this vehicle since 2005 and have had quite a few mechanical problems, the latest being a noise or whine (i relate this sound to the public broadcasting alert signal) coming from rear end. You can hear this sound inside the vehicle while driving down the road also. Any idea what it could be?

It does it the whole time the engine is running and the noise comes from the rear end of the vehicle.

No only whines while cranked up. With just key on it doesn't make any noise.

If it does it when 1st key on and or when engine cranking and running I would suspect fuel pump module and should have it checked

if it does it when truck moving only suspect wheel bearings

good luck
