How I am able to tell if the crank is top dead center

I was wonder how I am able to tell if the crank is top dead center in the number 1 firing position

These are the timing mark by setting it on marks will put it at TDC. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
