I have a 94 Chevy Cavalier that has about 98,000 miles on it. It has begun stalling occasionally when slowing down for a light or a stop sign. It will run fine for weeks or months. It makes a funny sound when you get below a certain speed, sort of like a loud wheezing and it runs rough. If I can manage to keep the speed up it wont stall and the noise goes away, but eventually I have to slow down so then it stalls. It starts right back up but as soon as I put it in gear it stalls again. This goes on for a while but it will eventually catch. I have had a little success with starting it in neutral and then flooring it as I put it in gear. It will go a little and stall again. After about 3 or 4 times of this it will catch and be OK. Also I have had success with starting it in neutral and dropping it into the lowest gear while flooring it. This tends to work a tiny bit better. It seems to happen when the car is driven "too far" or after it has idled for a long while, like when going through a drive thru and your food isn't ready. There are no idiot lights on, but when it stalls they all light up like they should when a car stalls. What is the problem, how much is it to fix, is it worth getting fixed or should I just get rid of it. It is a nice little car and I'd hate to get rid of it.
