Greetings all:
I own a 2001 Chevy Venture WB. 3.4 lieter V6 with 85,845 miles on it. This is primarily my wifes vehicle. The defrosting on the van is horrible. The heat is there, it gets hot, but the windows won't keep defrosted. It fogs up. We need to keep the defroster on high and at the highest temperature setting just to keep the windows from fogging up. There is absolutely no air, or barely any that I can't tell, that comes out from the side defroster vents. I have an extended warranty on the vehicle that will cover most anything. The dealer service department says that it is working fine. I think they are wrong. It was never this bad when we first purchased the vehicle. Any suggestions?

Check the vacuum source to the selector valve, also there is a blend door in side the heater plenum that might be having problems, stuck or broken.

Hello Ken, Thanks for your reply. Are you saying that is why there is no air coming from the side vents, or because the defroster wont keep the windows from fogging up, period?

Both, A blend door can cause both problems you are having. It is a good idea to check the vacuum source and the selector valve also.
