2000 Chevrolet Malibu 3.1 Liter Engine

I need to know how to test the electrical components of the valve on the fuel canister purge valve. I haven't had any luck with a chilton's manual and I'm perfectly capable of doing it myself. It's something small and I don't want to pay $200 for it.

To test the valve the only real thing you can do is test the solenoids wiring for shorts and opens. First remove the electrical connector, then read the connections to verify that you have continuity(low resistance) between them. Next read each pin to ground to see what resistance you get(should be very high( high resistance = no ground, low resistance = ground).
