My 2000 Silverado was rebuilt about 20,000 miles ago. The body is rusted and the frame is cracking on it. Is it fairly easy to put my engine and transmission into a 98" chevy 2500 4x4? This truck is in good shape body wise but has 300,000 miles on it. Is it worth a try? Thanks!

Well that I a question only you can answer. Is it what you want and would it be worth it to you to do that. As long as you keep the computer and do all the wiring correctly it will work just fine. You will need to send the computer in to a performance place to shut off the abs and air bags and other things that the older truck don't have other then that it is very doable.

No problem check with jet electronics or Hypertech to see if they do the computer reprogramming. Good luck and if I can help I will try.
