I have a 1996 chev c-1500 with a 5.7 vortech that does not start very easy, first of all a have put new plugs and wires and cap on the truck and it is getting spark, I do beleive it to be a fuel issue.
it is very hard to start and has just gotton worse over the last 6 months.
once it does start it seems to run just fine and if it is stopped and restarted within an hour then it starts easily but when it sits for a day it is very hard staring

I woudl be checking to see if the fuel pressure is getting up right away and staying up its a problem with some c1500 with th 5.7

check the fuel pressure and well go from there.

I think I will just replace the fuel pump, what are the chances of it being the fuel pressure regulator verses the fuel pump. Truck does have 120000 miles on it, or could it be something else.
I dont have alot of bucks right now so cant take it to a shop right now.

Thanks so much for your help I will send a donation as soon as I can

thanks again paul

Uhh chances are a little higher on bad pump then regulator but possible.

I would check the fuel pressure and try a static leakage test, underpressure and others to see if its pump or regulator.
