2006 Chevy Trailblazer Will not start or turn back on after

The battery and alt. was checked and tested to be working fine. Why did it need jump starting -unless you have a short somewhere draining up the battery.

but once ignition turned off the vehicle would not start on its own. Lights and radio did not turn on immediately but after 5 sec did turn on but at a dim.

Won't start on its own-meaning it cranks and will not start or just won't crank at all/nothing

I recommend you have the battery and alternator recheck/load tested to include checking the ignition switch.
