A week ago after starting my trailblazer it was about 25 degrees outside. I pulled off and felt as if the transmission was slipping. After it warmed up it drove fine. Is it possible this could have been due to the cold or is this a sign of a future problem.

I would say your trans is showing wear if it's doing this at 25 degrees. It should not slip until you get down around below zero temps.
