1997 Chevy Tahoe fuel pump problem

I have a 97 tahoe with a 350 and in tank fuel pump. The fuel pump went out, so I replaced it and when u turn the key to turn the fuel pump on, the pump comes on, but there is no fuel coming out, first I thought the pump was bad so I got a new one, but had the same problem, so I took the fuel lines off thinking that maybe the lines were clogged, but still the same thing, so I blew in to the lift unit pipes to make sure they wernt blocked, but they were free of debreas. Now I am all out of ideas, I know the fuel pump is good and I know there are no blocks, and I have all new filters. Please help

Hello !

Let me pull out the schematic on the pump.
Meanwhile. Are you sure that the connector its in the right position?
I mean, keep in mind that the pump is a DC motor and if the polarity is reverse the pump its going to turn backwards I mean CCW Intead Of CW or Viceversa.

Question: its your tahoe dual or single tank?

what do u meen by that? I have a postive and a neg going in to the pump and then two wires going to the sending unit. What wire would u be talking about?

Well on some cars the connector to the pump could be easily connected backwards (because of the shape of the connector) and if the plug its conected the other way the pump its going to work ccw instead of cw or viceversa.
This could be the case but not necessary Im sorry if I get you confussed, but I`m thinking as hard as possible to find the reason why your pump its not working the way its supposed to. And the thing is that it was working good before you replace the pump I mean until the pump burn and the only thing you did was replace the pump that is the culprint.

Let me know if the connector is shapped the way its impossible to connected bacwards or an a different way.

I`m just thinking about all the posibilities.

no it can only go on one way, but I did conect all the wires in the harness on my own. So maybe I put the positve and neg backwards? But I dont wanna switch them and creat a spark and blow up lol. If I switch them would it spark?

Spark? No I dont think so.

But before to do that disconnect the battery and be sure which wires are the correct ones, did you mark them.

Also. Can I post the PM`s you send me on the forum?

Thats the way some people can compare the problem with their cars and learn something new
