1995 Chevy Tahoe fuel gauge

I have a 95 tahoe and the fuel gauge dances around when I accelerate and I never know how much fuel I have when I am traveling I have lloked a fuel pumps but the dont have the float on it so I am wondering if I change the fuel sending unit will that fix my problem as it looks like it has the float attached to it

Sound's like fuel sender even more so since you said it goes crazy when you excellerate. But I would test it just to be sure you can hook up a ohms meter to the sender and move the float arm in differnt postion's. You can find a bad spot in the sender that way. Also they do sell the sender seperatey from the fuel pump try a website called rockauto. Com they have the ac delco one for like 200 and a aftermarket one for like 50 something.
