Car cuts off

My 1997 Chevy Suburban 1500 automatic 2 wheel drive with 175,163 miles cuts off when you push the a/c button. The engine squeals when it cuts off. We see no leaks. No fuses seem to be bad. All fluid levels are good. Do you have any idea what this could be?

I have a similar problem with mine it is the same as yours except it is 1994 and only 140,000 miles. The problem is similar but not exact. My squeeling comes when I turn my wipers on and then they stop working but the squeeling continues. I then have to pop the hood and I jiggle a group of wires that are behind the brake fluid holder. I thought it might just be my rigged vechile because it was a drug repo and who knows what type of convervisons they made to it, but jiggling the wires helped my problem.
