On this car, the doors lock automatically as soon as the ignition is turned to "ON". They don't unlock until the ignition is turned "OFF". On all my other GM cars, the locks engage when the transmission is shifted out of "Park". The current algorithm is a real pain. You start the engine to get the air conditioner running and immediately everyone is locked out of the car. When you want to let someone out while the engine is still running, you have to manually unlock the door. Can this be reprogrammed for a different mode?

We found the answer. The PO had installed a remote starter package that changed the locking sequence. By finding the manual on line, we were able to reprogram the algorithm to NOT lock the doors when the ignition switch was activated.
Thanks.
