My car would not start for several tries, then sometimes it would sit for a hour or 2 then start, then it may not ave a prob for days, it seems worse when it got low and I just put gas in it, it cranks fine, 97 chev sub 350 vortec motor, how do I know if its a filter that finally clog, cause now its been 3 days and wont start

First I would check and see if you have fuel pressure in the fuel system. Is it setting a check engine light or any other warning lights when it does start? Also check and see if your DIS cap and rotor are full of corrision. This will also cause a no start. But when it is not starting try to spray some carb cleaner or starting fliud in the air intake and see if it starts. If it does then you know it is in the fuel system.
