New Fuel Pump

I installed a new fuel pump on my 1998 Silverado, 2WD, 120,000 miles. The pump seems to run constantly. I don't remember hearing the noise before of it running. Is there a problem?

The pump seems to run constantly is this KOEO its not suppose to do that. When in KOEO the pump should come on for a few secs and then cuts off.
