Hello, my chevy truck started making a squealing noise only once warmed up, and only in gear while cruising, if you let off the gas it goes away, if you put on the gas it goes away. It will make it at almost any rpm, but only while cruising. It will not make the noise in park, neutral, I think it maybe associated with the tranny since if you put it in neutral while cruising the noise goes away, It shifts fine, and is full of new fluid. The noise is pretty loud.

This is a diagnosis that may need a set of chasis ears installed to narrow down the source.

Transmission sounds reasonable, but a noise can resonate. There is a technical service bulletin about a whine that GM appearently is unsure of....

This was date in 2007. The same tsb was issued in 2005 but said to replace the axle...

You may also be able to replicate the noise on a lift and use a stethescope to narrow it down.

Need to narrow down the source to better continuing troubleshooting.

Thanks,
I did put it on jack stands. ( Front end up against a tree in case it fell) could not duplicate the noise.
Sounds like metal on metal, barely touching each other creating a high pitched screech. I am afraid to take it to GM cause I don't want the whole drivetrain replaced to find out the transmission linkage needed some grease.

Makes sense, put a set of chassis ears on it and drive it to find the closest proximity.
