Truck died while sitting in a drive through today and now it won't start. After I let it sit for a few minutes it will start but only for about 5 seconds and then it dies again. Voltage is fine. I'm thinking clogged fuel filter or perhaps fuel pump. Any suggestions?

Hello,

It could be a issue with the fuel system.
First you need to check the fuel pressure and make sure it is adequate.
You should have 55-62 PSI of fuel pressure with the key on and engine off.

Another possibility is a faulty crank position sensor.
When a crank sensor goes bad it can make the engine stall without warning and many times you might not be able to get it started back up.
You need to check to see if you are getting power to the sensor. You should have 5V to the pin.

I have attached the replacement procedure for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you.
