2000 Chevy Silverado engine ideling to fast

The engine is idling to fast and when I put it in park it idles a whole lot faster and just runs a little fast when it is in gear

Most of the time a vacume leak will cause a high idle make sure your spark plug wires arent sparking to ground and use some carb and choke cleaner spray around the vacume lines you will notice a change in the engine if you find a vacume leak, if that doesnt work I would also check if your throttle cable is binding up
