Transmission problem
2000 Chevy Silverado V8 Four Wheel Drive Manual 150xxx miles

every time I try to shift my truck to 4 high or low, the 4 wheel drive light will come on but the front wheels won't spin. Any ideas?

Have you checked the actuator on the front differential? Also, can you hear the transfer case working?

I checked the actuator today and it's working fine, and yes I can hear the transfer case working. When the truck is running and I shift gears, I can hear the transmission make a grinding noise. Do you think that has to do something with the 4 wheel drive not working?
