Today I went out to start my truck because I hadnt been started in like a week. It started with no problem. I went into the house for like 15 minutes and went back out and vehicle wasnt running. Now all it will do is turn over. Is it not good to run your vehicle idoling? What could be the problem?

As far as idleling, I was taught that it shouldn't idle for long periods of time if it has an automatic transmission. Just long enough to let it warm up. However, I don't think that is the problem with your vehicle.

What I need you to do is check for spark and fuel to the engine. The easiest way to check for spark is ti see if the engine will run for a few seconds using starting fluid. If it starts or tries to start, in my book that means you are getting spark and no fuel.

Try that and let me know what you find. Also, if you have other questions, let me know. If you need step by step instrucions for checking for spark and fuel, let me know.

I will try that after I get my battery back, my friend seemed to think it was the battery. I dont think so. I will buy some starter fluid when I pick battery up and get back with you.

This morning it did eventually start and I took it for a ride. It ran normal no sputtering or anything. When I got home and parked it I went to move it and wont start again.
