I have a leak in my radioator that caused my truck to severly overheat. It started rattling and steaming. I shut it off and let it cool down. Then I put water in it and started it back up. It ran fine until it got hot again. Then it shut off by itself. I towed it back to my shop. But it would not start back up. I( it was still somewhat hot when I tried to start it.) My question is, Does it have a temperature sensor that will shut off the motor when it gets that hot or is it possible I have damaged the motor? It spins over fine but it will not start.

No it does not have a temp sensor that shuts engine off. Overheating it that bad had to have cooked something.
