2002 Chevrolet S-10 Overheating

My V6 S10 is overheating. I replaced the radiator last year and the thermostat 2 days ago. The truck drove fine for 24 hours after the thermostat change and then the temp gauge went to full. There is no heat blowing from the heater whatsoever. When I turn off the engine there is a hissing noise coming from near the thermostat housing/hose. There are no visible leaks anywhere----i'm not sure what to do. I need suggestions

Since the heater doesn't work, it could indicate that the coolant level is low. Check the coolant level.
Also, have the cooling system pressure tested to check for leaks. [Sometimes a waterpump will leak, but only while you're driving it; so you will not see a leak].
