Electrical problem
2000 Chevy S-10 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

will replace starter, and only the 3rd taillighte works, some times all lights flicker like a srobe.

Your starter is located on the drivers side of the vehicle on the 4cyl engine and passenger side on 6cyl models. Under side of engine of course, and you light issue sounds like a multifunction switch (turn signal switch) gm run the brake light circut through the turn signals except the 3rd brake light
