2000 Chevy S-10 Heater Fan

This morning after starting the truck there was a horrible smell of an electrical burn. It went away almost as quickly as it appeared.

Now the blower works only on High. When switched to the other speeds there is no fan noise, and no movement of air.

Where do I start to look? Would a blown fuse give off the burning electrical smell?

Not likely. Go to the fan speed resistor, located next to the blower motor in the HVAC plenum ( blower power wire goes to it). Unscrew it and look to see if it is cooked, also check the wires from it to the blower motor

A blown blower motor or resistor would, check on the passenger side, under the dash for the a/c heater box, locate the round blower motor, right next to it you should see the resistor, check that.
