2000 Chevy S-10 fan clutch

2000 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

how do I remove the fan clutch? I've read that the large nut is reverse thread on some web sites and I've read some that say it's not a reverse thread. In in case, I'm have a heck of a time trying to remove the clutch fan. Can you provide proper instructions for revmoval?

The engine is a 4.3

It is a standard thread. Back out one of the bolts to the water pump pully about 3/8" and then put 1/2" open end on the next bolt. Slip a pipe over the wrench as it bore against the backed out bolt. This will stop the waterpump from turning and allow fan clutch to come off.
