1996 Chevy S-10 Engine turns over but won"t start

Engine turns over but won't start, fuel pump is working but the instrument gauges are not.
Also I can not get the transmission shifter out of the park position. Key is on and foot on the break.

Engine turns over but won't start, fuel pump is working. It might be working is it producing the correct fuel pressure-you need to check it.

Lock in park-are the brake lights working? If so test the shift lock solenoid.
