Have removed all mounting bolts and brackets from starter on 1994 chevy s-10. Starter is hanging loose but am unable to remove it from vehicle. Do I need to remove transmission bell housing (flywheel cover) to remove starter or is there another trick to this?

Nothing else needs removed. If you removed the mounting bolts, it should come out.

I have a 1994 s-10 4x4, manual, and there was two ways I could get the starter out. Either remove the bell housing of the transmission or take the the solenoid off the starter.

With the solenoid on the starter the assembly could not come out between the frame and bell housing, but if you removed it there would be enough room to remove it.
