The fuel gauge never goes above 1/2 full. Replaced Sending unit and fuel pump.

It is my understanding the previous owner had the same problem when the vehicle had 48K miles. Chevy dealership repaired (Owner dose not know what was done) but soon after the repair it happened again and never was repaired again.

Any suggestions.

With regards,

Johnny

Take the fuel pump electrical connector loose. The pink wire is voltage for the gage sending unit. Use an 88 ohm resistor in series with the pink wire, key on. The other end of resistor goes to chassis ground. The fuel gage should read full according to my info. If it doesn't, something wrong with the pink wire circuit or maybe the gage is faulty? Radio shack sells resistors, no big issue there. Get as close as you can to 88, see what the gage does?
