1999 Chevy S-10 Fuel gauge

Ran out of gas the other day. Fuel gauge reading displayed half a tank. Fuel gauge here recently hasn't been what I thought it should be here lately. What do you believe is the problem? Is it the sending unit, the fuel relay, the fuel module or what?

Hello
GM has had a problem with their sending units and the poor quality of fuel out there today. A film builds up on the sending unit, GM's solution is to add Techron fuel system cleaner when the build up is fresh this usually takes care of the problem, if not you may need to replace the unit.
