1999 chevy cavalier (140,000 miles).
I am working on a project to increase efficientcy on exhaust, but I need a question answered.
At 60mph, what is the speed of the exhaust coming out of the tail pipe? Thanks to anyone who is willing to answer this question

I think that would depend on what rpm you are turning.

Sorry, let me be a little more clear.
On the open road, no grade, with a 2.2 l engine, going 60 mph at an rpm of 2700 in 5th gear. Also, isn't there a max of output from your tail pipe if it's a stock exhaust. I mean, only so much exhaust can come out, right?

There would be a max output, but all that is figured at the factory. If you don't have much exhaust coming out then it is partly clogged up somewhere, perhaps the converter or muffler.
