Engine problem
1979 Chevy Nova 6 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic lots miles

I have a 1979 Chevy Nova and it always conks out. I know there is a screw or something that I can adjust to fix the idle and/or choke, but not sure how to do that?

On the throttle there is a screw with a flat head end on it, also has a spring on it. That is the idle screw. Tightening it will run the car fast, and loosening it will slow the idel. Also check small screws on the bowls of the carb, there is one on each side of the carb. Turn them both clockwise until they are tight, then back them off 2 whole turns. Adjust those screws after having adjusted the curb idle screw, and whatever you do to one you must do to the other
