Keep receiving a tighten gas cap signal on dash along with a steady check engine light. Bought a new gas cap three times, each time except this last time the check engine light went away. Now it has been on for over a week and keeps saying tighten gas cap even with new cap installed again. Have even tried changing fuel type from regular to mid-grade and still have the same problem

Upon calling onstar to do a diagnostics they repllied it was an evap failure. Do you still need the codes. If you need to call, call and ask for my husband, Ricky he's the one inquiring. 414-931-0654 or 414-544-2841

That is for large Evap leak. testing requires some special equipment. Other than visual inspection of system, see diagram, will likely be hose off evap canister . or line kinked or off tank. This may need a trip to shop but first open hood lok around .
