2001 Chevy Malibu Feul Pump

I have a 2000 malibu and the pump went bad. It wouldnt accelerate when I put on the gas it was like the gas pedal didnt do anything then it would die out after the pump heated up usualy after I drove it around a few miles. It could be your fuel filter too. I think my filter caused my pump to go out because it was almost completley clogged. I would check to see if you are getting fuel pressuer to the intake manifold by turning on the car and pressing the valve on the right side of the manifold and see if any gas come out (assuming you dont have a pressure gague) then try the filter if it has no pressure.
I am not a mechanic I just know this from personal experience I would also suggest calling autozone. They are knowlegable. Good luck
