1971 Chevy Malibu Carb Back firing.

My carb is back firing out the top of the carb with a flame when I press on the gas pedal. It run good at a idle but when I press on the gas. It back fire and cuts off. Help

The eccelerator pump is an inexpensive part, but can be a little complicated to install depending on the type of carb you have. I would check my timing if that is on I would replace the pump. If you have a Holley carb the power valve could be bad.
