Don't believe so might shudder or clunk but would stll back up. Transaxle most likely.

Can it be the transmission. It still goes forward not backwards or is transaxle the samething. Can the transaxle be fix with out getting a new or use transmission. Whats cheaper to be rpaired a transaxle or a transmission. Thanks for ur response very helpful.

Yes transaxle and trans sameo. Sometimes a used trans is cheaper because a rebuild is labor intensive. Make some calls but first take to AAmco they run a free diagnostic then you will know
